What to buy here

What to look for here

Skechers is American walking and everyday footwear: sneakers with a soft insole, Slip-ins that go on hands-free, Arch Fit models with foot support, work shoes and kids' sneakers with light-up soles. Stores carry women's, men's and kids' shoes, plus a bit of activewear, socks, bags and backpacks - but shoes are the main thing here.

There are more than 660 Skechers-owned stores in the US, and the chain is growing. The stores come in three kinds: regular ones in malls, Factory Outlets in outlet centers, and Warehouse Outlets - big warehouses with leftovers and clearance from other stores.

In my experience, the best Skechers finds were at Costco and Ross, but those were individual models. If you want a big range of models, go to the Skechers outlets.

How discounts work

How to read the price and where it's lowest

  • There is almost always a promotion on pairs. In my experience, stores usually have deals when you buy two or more pairs, or BOGO - the second pair at half price. On the website, BOGO 50% applies to Skechers Plus members.
  • I have also occasionally come across a "today only" promotion: one specific sneaker model has a lower price, but only on that day.
  • At the outlets, in my experience, there are racks of marked-down boxes that get an additional discount on top.
  • Around the holidays - store-wide sales and extra percentages in the app for Skechers Plus members.
  • At the Warehouse Outlet the lowest prices are on the clearance racks.
