In January 2026 the chain's parent company filed for bankruptcy (Chapter 11). In February-March 2026 the closing of 4 department stores was announced (Boston, White Plains and others), leaving 32 stores.
Watch for closing sales: before closing, a store sells off its remaining stock, and discounts grow every week. Before you go, check whether the store in your city is still open - on the chain's website or in Google Maps.

Neiman Marcus is a luxury department store from Dallas: designer clothing, shoes and bags, jewelry and watches, luxury cosmetics and perfume, kids' clothing, luggage and home goods. After the closures in spring 2026, 32 stores remain - in big cities and affluent suburbs, often inside premium shopping centers. In New York the same company also owns Bergdorf Goodman.
Brands people come here for: Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Burberry, Valentino, Loewe, Dior, Chanel, Tom Ford, Giorgio Armani, Max Mara, Jimmy Choo, Balmain, Etro, Missoni, Jil Sander, Tory Burch, plus La Mer and Guerlain in beauty and Rimowa in luggage.
It doesn't pay to buy at full price here. The point of the trip is the sale, when designer items are marked down 40% or more and the last sizes go even cheaper.
