What to buy here

What to look for here

HomeGoods is a TJX store just for the home: dishware, small kitchen items, textiles, candles, decor, bath goods, pet supplies and a food section (coffee, tea, sweets, spices). The principle is the same as at TJ Maxx: well-known brands below the regular price, in batches, with a constantly changing selection.

If you need inspiration and ideas for decorating your home, all roads lead here. There are a great many home goods, and they are good quality. If you love brands and want good quality, the home goods here are probably the best, so if you need anything for the home, come here first. Part of the selection repeats at TJ Maxx and Marshalls, but the widest home selection is at HomeGoods. And the selection at all three TJX stores is often better than at Ross and Burlington.

  • Kitchenware, including KitchenAid. But today the store may have KitchenAid pots and tomorrow they're gone; they'll be restocked later or not at all - it all depends on where the store buys its leftovers.
  • Home textiles, throws and bedding from various brands, for example Calvin Klein and Lacoste.
  • Home appliances, and good ones at that.
  • Food from Europe, especially Italy: good olive oil, different kinds of pasta, snacks.

If I had known about this store when I moved to America, I would never have bought home goods at Walmart.

From our shopping trips

On our shopping trips at HomeGoods, more than half of the items cost $6-15, about a hundred were up to $5, and anything over $50 is rare. Among brands, the most common were KitchenAid dishware and small kitchen items, then Ralph Lauren, Kate Spade, Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY, Calvin Klein, Stanley bottles and Henckels knives.
