Dick's Sporting Goods is the biggest sporting goods chain in the US, with about 890 stores in almost every state. It is a large store with gear for all kinds of sports: Nike, Jordan, adidas, Under Armour, New Balance and Hoka sneakers and clothing, The North Face and Columbia jackets, and equipment for team sports, golf, fitness, hiking and camping. You can also buy professional equipment here - for soccer, baseball, hockey and golf, not just gym clothes. Worth buying: sneakers, activewear and jackets from well-known brands. Prices are regular American prices, and noticeably lower on sale.

Besides the regular stores, the chain has House of Sport - huge stores with a climbing wall and a space to try out the gear, Golf Galaxy for golf and Public Lands for hiking. Since 2025 Dick's also owns Foot Locker, but it operates under its own name.

The chain has its own discount store, Going, Going, Gone! - outlet-style stores with leftovers and markdowns of the same brands, with discounts of up to 70%. The selection changes all month, and there are only a few of each model. If there is such a store nearby, start with it.

• Clearance is in every store - on separate racks and shelves, usually at the back of the floor or at the ends of the aisles. Marked-down items are recognizable by yellow and red price tags.
• Sometimes the chain holds separate sales of warehouse leftovers (Warehouse Sale) - they are announced in the app and the newsletter.
• Coupons for an amount or a percentage arrive in the app and by email for ScoreCard members. On some brands, especially new Nike and Jordan, they often don't apply - read the terms and don't count on the price with the coupon until you've checked at the checkout.
• Back to school (July-August) - lots of sneakers and clothing, but also lots of shoppers.
• Black Friday and December - big discounts on jackets and shoes, and in January the leftover winter items are sold off.
• There are usually sales for Memorial Day, July 4 and Labor Day. Exact dates are in the app.
