Best Buy is the only truly big electronics chain in the US, with about 900 stores. It has everything for the home: laptops and phones, Apple products, TVs, headphones, smartwatches, consoles and games, cameras, kitchen and home appliances. There are also kids' toys - play sets, drones, LEGO, which also goes on sale. The most popular picks are headphones, Apple Watch, AirPods, gadgets and accessories - things that are easy to carry and cheaper in the US.

Besides regular stores, the chain has about 18 Best Buy Outlet locations - they sell open-box and marked-down items: previously mostly large appliances, now also laptops, tablets, gaming gear and phones. Addresses are in the store locator on the website. Pacific Sales is a separate set of stores for large home appliances and kitchens.

• Deals come in different kinds: daily Deal of the Day, weekly discounts, prices for paid membership members, open-box and seasonal sales.
• Back to school (July-August) - laptops, tablets, headphones.
• Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the biggest sale of the year. In 2026, Black Friday is November 27. In 2025, early discounts started as early as October 31, and separate doorbusters came out on Fridays - so it's worth watching from the end of October.
• December - holiday discounts, and lots of open-box after Christmas.
• Sales for holiday weekends: Presidents Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day.

• Price match: if the same new model is cheaper at Amazon, Walmart, Target, Costco and other big stores, Best Buy will lower its price. Only items sold by the store itself count, not marketplace sellers. From the Thursday before Thanksgiving through the Monday after it, competitors' prices are not compared.
• If Best Buy lowers the price itself while your return window is still open, they will adjust the difference.
• Add what you need to favorites in the app and watch Deal of the Day: the price changes every day.
• In-store and online prices are usually the same, but online it's easier to catch one-off deals and open-box.

Back in the day we caught toys on the Best Buy site for almost nothing. There were discounts in the store itself too, but not as big. So in my experience, Best Buy online can be much more interesting than the sales floor.
