In 2025 the chain closed 62 stores in North America, mostly in malls, and opened 94, mostly outside malls.
Watch for closing sales: before closing, a store sells off its remaining stock, and discounts grow every week. Before you go, check whether the store in your city is still open - on the chain's website or in Google Maps.

What to look for here
Bath & Body Works is one of the most popular body care and hygiene stores in the US: mists, lotions, shower gels, hand creams, soap, sanitizers, a men's line and home fragrances (the White Barn line): three-wick candles, diffusers, Wallflowers plug-in refills and car fragrances. Outside the US the brand usually costs noticeably more. There are about 1,800 stores in the US, and more and more of them are not in malls but in roadside shopping centers.
Everything smells really good, the fragrances are great - definitely check out the candles. And try the shampoos: unexpectedly, they leave hair looking beautifully shiny, and the impression is really nice.
- Fragrances change with the seasons: more pumpkin scents toward fall, holiday ones toward winter.
- From time to time there are collaborations with other brands - limited collections.
Two store formats
- Regular boutique stores - the full range, current collections and the deals of the week.
- Bath & Body Works outlets in outlet centers sell off leftover stock: discontinued items and last season's products. There are 75-80% discounts on a whole rack and fixed-price items at $3-5.
Personally, the regular boutique store is a really great format, it is more pleasant to be in. But the outlet is worth the drive for the prices: if you like something from past collections, you can get it very cheaply there.
