Banana Republic Factory is the outlet line of Banana Republic (Gap Inc.). The assortment is mostly made for outlets: shirts, pants, dresses, merino and cashmere sweaters, basic T-shirts. Sweaters and shirts are what people buy most - decent quality for a clear price.
It is one company - Gap Inc. - and its brands share points and a credit card, but the level of the clothes is different. Old Navy is the most affordable: basic clothing for the whole family. Gap is mid-level: American classics, jeans and logo items. Banana Republic is higher in quality and style: office clothing, linen, merino, cashmere. The company also includes Athleta, women's activewear. Gap and Banana Republic have Factory outlet lines - items made specially for outlets and cheaper.
From our shopping trips
Banana Republic Factory had 12 of our shopping trips, and the assortment is large: a single trip sometimes had 50-180 items. Most cost $16-30 with all discounts, a lot of it $6-15. Discounts on the price tags reached 85-90%.
We bought pants for $11-17 instead of $100-120 and a linen-blend polo for $22 instead of $55. In spring and summer there is a lot of linen and merino.
