How to save here
How discounts work
- A&F and Hollister stores in outlet centers (Premium Outlets, Tanger) are outlets: prices are usually lower than in malls and there's almost always a sale. Regular malls have full-price stores, and the sale there is the clearance racks inside the store. Which format is where - see the store locator on the brand's website.
- Sale racks usually have 15-50% off, about 30% on average.
- On some days an extra percentage is announced on top - for example, another 20-40% off all clearance. Such deals can also last just one day.
When the sales are
"25% off the whole site" promotions happen several times a year: in spring (early April), "Kickoff to Summer" in late May, and during Black Friday week - up to 25% plus another 15% with a code. In early February there can be the Semi-Annual Denim Event - 25% off jeans.
Rewards program and card
- myAbercrombie - free, and VIP members get an extended return window.
- Hollister House Rewards - free: points for purchases and early access to sales; new members sometimes get $10 off $40.
- You can join both at checkout with a phone number or email.
- Receipt survey coupon: at the bottom of A&F and Hollister receipts there's sometimes an invitation to take a short survey on the brand's website, using the code from the receipt. You get a code for your next purchase - by various reports about $10 off $40-50 or 10-15%, usually valid for a week. The exact terms are printed on the receipt, so don't throw it away right away.
Before checkout: Simon+ and signs
- Before heading to the register, check the Simon app: is there an extra Simon+ discount for that store at your center? Nobody at checkout will tell you about this discount - you have to show it yourself, before paying.
- Look at the signs at the entrance and by the register: they sometimes list SMS numbers - texting them signs you up for the brand's program and gets an extra discount.
- Asking staff about rewards programs and extra discounts is often pointless: many don't know about them and don't offer them. But if the terms of a deal on a sign in the store are unclear, that's exactly what to ask the salesperson.

What to buy here
What to look for here
Abercrombie & Fitch and Hollister are brands of the same company. A&F is pricier and more grown-up (Curve Love jeans, dresses, coats, basics), while Hollister is youthful and cheaper (hoodies, jeans, T-shirts, sweatsuits). Both are often bought for teens and college students.
Sizes
How to pick your size
Jeans are labeled by waist and length in inches (for example, 28x30) - check against the tag and the conversion chart. Hollister runs small, and many people size up.
