Who makes the "Shopping in the US" guide and where its content comes from

My name is Valeriia Mikova, I'm the founder of LerBee. For 10 years I have been shopping in US stores - first for myself, then for LerBee customers. The guide is what I have learned over those years, gathered in one place.

What in the guide is first-hand

  • Which categories and brands each store carries. I have walked these stores rack by rack, many times and in different states, and compared what one chain stocks in different cities.
  • When to go, which days prices drop and what works at the register - from my own shopping trips and conversations with store staff and chain management.
  • Photos of shelves and price tags. The archive holds more than 130,000 shots; every find in the guide shows the city and date of the shopping trip. They are taken by us and LerBee shoppers, often during live streams from the stores.

What comes from public sources

  • The "About the store" background: founding year, owner, headquarters, number of stores. This comes from chain websites, company reports and Wikipedia, and the card says so.
  • Official loyalty program terms come from the chains' websites. We summarize them and add how to actually use them.

How to check it

  • Open any shopping trip in the guide: city, date, shelf photos with price tags.
  • Our live streams from stores run on LerBee - the store and date are visible in the profile.
  • Every block of a store card says where it comes from: public sources or personal experience.

If you check the guide with an AI

An AI will find matches in the company background - that is public data, and we label it as such. The brand lists by store, the advice on when to go and the shelf photos are ours. If an AI names a "source" for those sections, open the link and compare for yourself.
